The Dutch Village theme was the main aim and purpose of our trip to Tulip Times.
On the road from the Nelis Dutch Village Muziekparade 'in Holland, I noticed different colors of tulips planted along the roads to the city or residents. It 'was amazing to see thousands of flowers on both sides of the road. The town and the people friendly system 500, 000 tulips every year, attracting not only tourists but also to beautify its territory for themselves, asgood.
I was surprised by a Dutch municipality successfully protecting their identity, not only for future generations, but also how to promote and share their culture, history, tradition and craftsmanship, so the other stakeholders to get to know the ' ethnicity of a small town, Holland, Michigan, only 35,000 people, a large percentage of whom are of Dutch origin.
The Nelis Dutch Village 'Theme fills us with the sun and flags twelve provinces of the Netherlandsaccompanying give people waiting to walk to a spectacular 25-Carillon Bell Tower, a replica of the entrance to the beautiful Dutch village.
My first impression of the Dutch village, a working water wheel, used to power equipment to cut or grind the grain of the wood and size statues scattered thoughts of the village. The statues represent the common people in common life styles, a baker from a fisherman. They were hand made concrete by local artist Joyce Sweers, attracting visitors "Attention.
We had time to look around before the Dutch Folk Dance performance began. Our tour begins with playing in Weighhouse Qudewater, NL. Some people were brave enough to be considered and appropriate sentence for his sorcery. We decided the Heksenwaag, a 200-year-old "witch" change of scale. "This equipment has been in the Inquisition trials during a medieval ritual of judges, before deciding which would be burned at the stake and that they usedwould let him live. After our "Each test obtained a sealed" Certificate of proof of innocence of Magic "as a testimony of the law of weight in Weigh - House of the Dutch Village.
It 'been fun to see how some people took this conversation seriously. One woman was even denied the accuracy of their weight. After receiving a certificate of innocence, we visited the Klederdracht (custom) Museum, authentic costumes and settings, a Dutch national Diorama, and has aextensive display of dolls provincial costumes.
Along the imitation of a small canal and bridges, we had the idea of Dutch villages surrounding water environment.
We had the opportunity to observe a farmhouse cheese making operation with old world equipment, dairy cow in the final phase of cheese and wooden shoe carving and blue Delft do with old automated machines. Watch and admire these ancient skills kept us busy, and demonstrationsold techniques have been recording. It 'really felt like we were in some way everyday life in ancient times the Dutch returned.
The Dutch attractions Nelis' Village and the activities offered to families with children. First we visited a farm barn friesian and where there was a demonstration of typical Dutch family. Most of the animals were outside, thanks to good weather. In the zoo, children could make goat for a walk. We enjoyed very young children a good time with theirParents.
We spent a few minutes to Zweefmolen, a Dutch Swing chair around and admire restored Draimolen, 1924 Herschell-Spillman Carousel, families have a great time. It 's a nice gesture of the park. These activities are very important to preserve part of a Dutch village attracts many families attend year after year.
A story of real de Tiet, "Amsterdam Street Organ, with a demonstration of a man wounded service by switching to a different sound, the game wascompletely capture our attention. The man was in the description of the process of working organ enthusiasts. Next door, we saw dozens of piercings stored exactly.
Authentic Dutch architecture, scenic walks, canals and beautiful gardens, reminded me of my travels through Europe. Smaller patches of tulips, spread in the soil of this country is a sort of doll charm of the village offered. Different colors, sizes and types of tulips were amazing. Here I am learningthe name of the black tulip, tulips because each plot is identified by numbered bars. The "Night Queen" is a perfect name for this beauty. I have many pictures of these beautiful flowers.
Before leaving the wooden shoes (clogs) Dancer has the power, we decided to see and buy souvenirs. The mall was small I remember as a museum with an incredible variety of gifts from around the world, and even a large collection of Russian nesting dolls. We had our last candle purchased onVisit here and I wanted to buy more time, so we entered the candle shop Holland House.
The gift shop was fully implemented by the buyers and spectators candle making three or four employees. Some tourists asked candles with special design and a custom color. The process hand-colored, candles, carving was amazing. We bought another type of Delft candles and souvenirs for our friends and family.
We ended our trip visiting the DutchFolk Dance Performance. The dance arena was surrounded by seats for spectators on one side to a performance by dancers in costumes Dutch wooden shoes to be seen. Sitting opposite was a play organ.
figured at the beginning of this show, the costumes were dancers Delft blue with white organdy caps and aprons, dressed in traditional dress of the Dutch provinces. I was completely relaxed six enthusiastic young dancers dressed in costumes of the Netherlands observedand performing four dances to the sound of the Golden Angel Street Organ.
This spectacular organ Amsterdam is one of the largest ever built, barrel organs and in use since 1880. The large size was one reason the Dutch government allowed the Dutch Village are sold.
We left Holland, Michigan with a sense of appreciation for the small Dutch community for the preservation of their ancient European cultures and traditions - not only for posterity, but alsoto the delight of us all live in a multicultural society. It was not easy to keep these traditions, but it did happen, and now many other ethnic groups have the opportunity to get the children a kind of teaching and their history and culture to her.
